Wow...we took our newest member of the family...."Arvey" to Kentucky.  He's 18ft long.  I was hoping it would be a touch warmer than Illinois this time of year and besides we have heat and campfires for the cool nights.  Well, our first driving trip was 7 hours long and boy was it windy.  You could feel the car and trailer moving back and forth.  We got 6.7 miles per gallon...we were told we should get about 13mpg.  Well, I hope the wind was the issue because at 7mpg it would make me re-think the size of what we were buying. Please let me know if anyone out there has an RV and can relate!
Then my son Zack was asking to go to the bathroom twice an hour....not sure if it is a sensory thing or he is just not emptying his bladder.  He is always thirsty as am I, because of our allergy meds.  Trying to limit drinks. So we arrived at our campsite at 9pm.  Cold and dark...but a easy set up.
We previously had a 1985 pop up camper.  We could not figure out cable for 3 days...had it all plugged in and nothing....read the manual...nothing.  The hubby went to talk with the campsite owner and she asked if we had our power antenna up?? Yup!! Sure did!  WaaaLaaa...Cable!
Fun discovering how to work everything.
We were unable to have a campfire at our particular pull thru site...bummed because that is a big part of the camping experience...is it not!! ;)  It was cold and windy so we may not have sat outside long.
Then we had to worry about using the bathroom in the camper since they only dump 3 days a week...we were full by day 4 and that was really watching it.  My son took one quick...and I mean quick shower.  I will look for sewer hook ups at each site from now on.  Between my son and I we would have the tank full the first day! LOL!  Wait..I am not kidding!
Here's a pic of our little Arvey!!

Ok...I have been working on several home projects....One of which turned out awesome and the others turned out pretty well too.

First...I got a large piece of plywood (8Ft) and free handed a tree on it, cut out the tree with a jigsaw and then sanded and painted it white.  It hangs in my dining room and I have lights behind it...I love it!
Second...my metal coffee table.  I designed shape and size and my husband built it out of wood.  I then attached aluminum in sheets to the table with furniture tacks.  A square cut out with box was done to add fun lights and things to it.  I put plexiglass over square cutout.  Turned out nice but I had envisioned something even better.
Third...I used scrap 2x4's and made a wall hanging.  I cut the wood in various sizes, glued it to some plywood and then whitewashed the wood.  Wow is it heavy...the hubby warned me!  But it's unique!
